Anyone who has ever studied Charles IV must have learned about his mysterious disease that struck him in the autumn of 1350. Sudden and serious, the king’s disease aroused worries about his life in Europe which had been afflicted by the plague for three years. The anthropological and medical examination of the king’s remains, shed new light on this mystery. The lecture is organised by the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University.
